Well, spring is on it's way, and I'm back into buying mode... Jim keeps telling me not to buy anything else, but I could not resist this one. This is the light fixture for a 5' standing lamp that I found. I loved it, and think it will fit perfectly with it's surroundings... now, we just need to get up the hill and into the property.
It's been a busy month but we took time out to take a quick trip to California to see and hear our first granddaughter sing in a choir competition. We met up a couple of times and had such an amazing time. So worth it.
The choir sang this amazing song about the Aurora Borealis in Alaska and it was by far my favourite of the three songs they sang. All three sounded amazing...
And, they won first place in the competition. We are so proud.
And, this is what the outside of the cabin looks like after the winter. My friend, Kelly took these pictures from our deck. It's coming along nicely.
And, here's a 2nd shot from the deck...

And, this is what was happening on the deck. We had a whole bunch of wood that would not fit into the wood burning stove. So, we had Ben, who has a wood splitter, to spend a little time and split the logs into something that will fit. We don't have the stove fixed yet, but when we do, these will bit perfectly. Hopefully, getting the stove put back together will be number one priority this summer. (I was going to write that Kelly actually split the wood, while Ben sat down and played on his phone, but that is actually a lie... but, it makes for interesting copy.... Giggle.) Ben was the first casualty this year... he borrowed a ramset to fix a part of his kitchen, and accidentally shot the nail through his finger. If I remember correctly, Jim did the same kind of thing last year with a nail gun... I can see why these two are friends.... (Side note: After I posted about Jim shooting a nail through this finger, I had about 20 people who wrote me and said they had done exactly the same thing... The winner was a friend of mine who nailed three of his fingers together in a little nail gun accident.... )

And, our grandson Ben won 2nd place in his school's science fair. We are so proud.
With that, we are hoping for more amazing weather, warming nights, and time to really get working at the cabin. The adventure continues.
Love, Jim and Cheri
