LOTS AND LOTS OF OOLITIC LIMESTONE!

Well, Jim called me yesterday and was all excited about an amazing find.  He was perusing his usual haunts on the internet and found that the city of Price, Utah, was auctioning slabs of oolitic limestone for window sills. This old limestone was coming out of the Price Court House which was built in 1958...It's beautiful limestone picking up browns and beige and light pinks and it has shells in it also...  Winning bid, $4.19 for 95 feet of window sill eight inches wide and one inch thick.

He wanted to buy them something crazy, but, he works in West Jordan, which is 2.5 hours away from Price, and I work 1.5 hours away from Price...  He was so excited about this find, I started to think about who I could call to help with the pick up.  They are tearing down the old courthouse and want it gone by the weekend.

We have a friend who lives in Spanish Fork.  I face-booked her and asked if her husband was available.  She said her husband was in Colorado until next week, but she was available to help. She said her son was available to go with her.  We guesstimated that it would take about 6 hours for the two of them to get the stone out of the building and back to Provo....

Well, it took a little bit longer than that.  Our friend's son was not available, but her daughter was, and the two of them hauled all that stone out.

It's absolutely beautiful and is going to look amazing in our cabin...Big, big, big thank you to Deseret and her daughter for making it all happen!

Another amazing adventure...
